There are two things that 30-year-old Seattle resident Lauren Ko knows how to do best, and that’s pies and art! So this genius chef has decided to incorporate the best of both worlds. The result has been a series of neatly creative pies that are the coolest things you’ve ever seen. Just make sure to follow her Instagram because before you know it, you’ll be asking this powerful pie wizard to teach you her techniques.
All Hell Bakes Loose
During the day, Lauren Ko is Seattle College’s executive assistant to the chancellor. But in her spare time, she’s an artistic diva. But you simply won’t believe what she uses as a canvas.
A Slice Of Pieart
“Go goldly where no cran has gone before,” is what Lauren posted for this delicious cranberry pie on her Instagram. It looks like she sets the dough strips in an arc shape, then twists them before laying them on top of the pie. What intricate yet delicious work!
The Bluetylicious Pie
When it comes to pies, Lauren has a knack for making the most stunning blueberry pie you’ve ever seen. Crust us, she’s got so much talent you’ll be begging her for the recipe. But wait! There’s more pie to see.
A Piece Of Curd
Lauren is quite humble about her abilities to cook scrumptious pies, but as you can see from this cranberry curd tart, she’s an expert in the kitchen, and she loves the support on social media. “Pie’m so thankful you’re here,” she posted.
Van Gogh’s Nutty
Lauren even recreated Van Gogh’s “Starry Night” painting, but she gave the name her own twist and called it “Starry Nut.” This Bourbon pecan pie with dark chocolate was made by Van Dough…I mean, Lauren Ko!
Her “Inquinceapple” Family
Her biggest inspiration for these elaborate pies comes from the fact that her family loves food and were great home cooks. So, she can thank her family for these beautiful pies. Her pun mastery, though, is pie-some!
A Peary Delicious Pie
Lauren calls this artwork of cardamom-spiced cream and cinnamon-scented wine-soaked pears layered on buttery shortbread “a breath of fresh pear.” It’s hard to believe that she only started baking pies a year ago.
Pie-ing To Impress
Lauren admits that she tries real hard to be cool with artwork, like this almond cream tart. It’s so artistic that she makes it “worth your argyle.” She also claims to be driven by color combinations and geometric patterns.
Not For The Faint Of Tart
While Lauren admits to improvising, she’s also gotten inspiration from other cooks like Eva from @bakestreet to make this “unboolievably” awesome Halloween tart that’s not for the faint of heart.
More Than Sweets The Eye
Lauren works full time, so she uses her Saturdays to bake three pies and tarts, like this sweet potato pie with a purple sweet potato twist. Make sure to join her 71k Insta-followers because she only shares a piece of pie with her friends and family.
