Kimiko Nishimoto doesn’t have time to bake cookies. She’s too busy having fun and making people laugh with some of the coolest selfies you’ve ever seen. She even has a museum exhibit at Tokyo’s Epson Epsite Imaging Gallery titled “Asobokane,” which translates to “Let’s Play.” Her snaps are creative and fun, and she puts a lot of effort and imagination into them. Kimiko is living proof that you’re never too old to get into photography!
Just Hanging Around
Kimiko was 72 when she enrolled in her son’s photography beginner’s course. Since then, she’s discovered the awesome world of photography. But she doesn’t just snap pictures of beautiful flowers and still life. She likes putting herself in hilariously bizarre situations and then snapping the coolest self-portraits!
Is this grandma rad or what? She’s looking all Fast And The Furious on her bike. Yup! She’s definitely surpassed us in the coolness factor. Not only does she snap her own photos, she edits them in her own unique style!
She’s got a quirky sense of humor, and everyone in her hometown of Kumamoto thinks so, too. She even had her own solo exhibition at a local museum before making it big 17 years later at an upcoming event in Tokyo.
Moving On Up
Kimiko’s trying to figure out which outfit to wear, but she knows she needs to hurry. Her Asobokane art exhibit will debut on December 15, 2017 in Tokyo. FYI – It’ll only be available until January 18, 2018. So if you’re hanging out in her neck of the woods, don’t miss out on her self-portraits. They’re the perfect way to spend a hilarious afternoon!
